2010 - DOMA VAQUERA - MY PASSION
My first contact with Doma
Vaquera took place - how odd - during the Hippica Varsovia
horseshow at the Varsavian Race Track Służewiec. I was then a member of
a western show team led by Alex Jarmula. When in a free time I sat in
the audience I was lucky to see the show by Zbigniew Herman riding with
la garrocha. I didn't know
what was the long pole and what was its purpose, still I was impressed
by the elegance and originality of the ride. I started to look for
information about the style, and... to train.
Soon it appeared that riding with the "stick" was an excellent
excercise for riding precision, giving broad possibilities to chisel
riding techniques and to train the horse. But first of all it was
such a great fun! In 2007, when we were preparing a new fireshow with
the Independent Stuntmen Association, I decided to ride a program
inspired by Doma Vaquera, with a garrocha fired at the end.
I would like to share my passion with you, publishing on this
website materials about this fabulous riding style. I came into very
nice contact with Mr Peter Maddison-Greenwell,
a British specialising in Doma Vaquera, who promised to send me
some articles on the subject.

RESEARCH ON STRESS LEVEL IN HORSES
In
October and November Wojtek took part in a reasearch of the stress
level in horses started using the natural horsemanship methods. The
first three-days session took place at a private stud near Przemyśl,
where Wojtek worked with seven horses. Another two sessions were held
at the Janów Podlaski Stud, and they included eight horses each,
Arabians and thoroughbreds. The horses wore pulsetesters to
examin their reactions to the stages of training. The work was tough and intense but it allow to collect new experiences from starting horses.
October 2010 -FAREWELL TO SUMMER
With
all our friends we decided to change the traditional Hubertus race to a
summer farewell celebration: we started with a horseback trip and then
there was a feast in the light of the autumn sun. The success was full,
even the sun was there smiling at us from above. When I'm writing
these words I can hear rain drops drumming against the window sills.
But don't worry, in a few weeks we'll say winter hello. On horseback,
narturally.

September 17-19 2010 - CONSIDERING THE HORSE
Wojtek had the pleasure to take part
in the first Polish edition of the "Considering the Horse" show
organised in Zbrosławice. Besides Wojtek the event gathered such
"natural" trainres as Monika Damec,
Jerzy Sawka i Dariusz Domagała.
We decided that out of us two representing
SZINUK Wojtek would participate in the event. Our
intention was to show that the stuntman's work can be based on friendly
relationship with a horse, to present the basics of the modern stunt
work at its very beginning.
Wojtek drawn a young stallion named Rastaman, a sensitive horse
with strong personality. Wojtek quickly managed to establish
communication with Rastaman; in the freestyle part of the show
Wojtek even managed to "talk" the horse into laying down, which was the
ultimate evidence of trust of the unexperienced animal who decided to
do that in the indoor arena full of people and objects.

September 21, 2010 - TV SPOT OF THE TVN FOUNDATION "YOU'RE NOT ALONE"
We have
just received the final version of the tv advertising spot of the TVN
Foundation "You're Not Alone" offering help and support to sick
chldren. For the needs of the spot Wojtek prepared our Arabian stallion
Ziemowit. It was great pleasure to participate in such a great project,
especially that we wholeheartedly identify with the goals of the
Foundation.
By the way, though it seems so easy, just to let a
horse run around a kid, believe us: the horse had to run EXACTLY along
the paths the director needed... :-)
